June 4, 2026
June is recognized as Alzheimer’s & Brain Awareness Month, a time dedicated to increasing understanding of Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia while honoring those affected by memory loss. At our skilled nursing facility, we are committed to providing compassionate, person-centered care that supports residents and families through every stage of their journey.
Alzheimer’s disease is the most common form of dementia and affects memory, thinking, behavior, and daily functioning. While aging is the greatest risk factor, Alzheimer’s is not a normal part of aging. Early recognition, supportive care, and meaningful engagement can greatly improve quality of life.
Common signs of Alzheimer’s and dementia may include:
- Memory loss that disrupts daily life
- Difficulty completing familiar tasks
- Confusion with time or place
- Changes in mood, personality, or behavior
- Trouble with communication or problem-solving
During Alzheimer’s Awareness Month, we encourage everyone to learn more about brain health, support caregivers, and show compassion to those affected by dementia. Small acts of kindness and understanding can make a lasting impact.
Together, we can continue creating a community filled with patience, purpose, and care for every resident we serve.
