Dear Residents, Families, and Friends of Elkton Nursing & Rehab,
As we welcome the beautiful season of fall, we are reminded of how quickly the seasons change. The cooler temperatures, colorful leaves, and crisp mornings bring a special feeling to our community. Fall is a wonderful time to slow down, enjoy time with the people we love, and take a few extra steps to care for our health as we prepare for the colder months ahead.
During the fall and winter seasons, protecting our health becomes especially important. Simple habits can make a big difference. Dressing appropriately for cooler weather, staying hydrated, eating nutritious meals, getting plenty of rest, and staying active within our abilities are all great ways to support our overall wellness. We also encourage everyone to practice good hand hygiene, cover coughs and sneezes, and follow recommendations from your healthcare provider regarding seasonal vaccines and other preventive care.
Most importantly, please don’t hesitate to speak up when you don’t feel your best. Our residents’ health and wellbeing are always our priority, and our team is here to listen, help, and make sure you receive the care and support you need.
Celebrating Resident Rights Month October also gives us an important opportunity to recognize Resident Rights Month. Every resident deserves to be treated with dignity, respect, kindness, and compassion — not only during Resident Rights Month, but every day.
Our residents have the right to make choices about their care, express their preferences, voice concerns, maintain meaningful relationships, participate in activities, and live in an environment where they feel safe, valued, and respected. We are honored to serve our residents and believe their voices should always be heard.
At Elkton Nursing & Rehab, our residents are more than the care we provide. They are individuals with stories, experiences, preferences, families, dreams, and personalities that make our community what it is. We want every resident to feel that their opinions matter and that they have a voice in their daily lives and care.
As we enter this new season, I encourage our residents, families, and staff to embrace the changes fall brings. Take time to enjoy the little things — a warm cup of coffee, a favorite activity, a visit from family, a good conversation, or simply watching the leaves change.
Thank you to our residents and families for allowing us to be part of your lives, and thank you to our incredible staff for the compassion and dedication you show each day.
From our Elkton family to yours, we wish you a happy, healthy, and beautiful fall season!
With warmest regards,
Eric Ross
